Dynamic Balancing Services

Industrial dynamic balancing services for motors, rotors, fans, blowers, pumps, propellers, turbines, marine components and other rotating equipment.

Industrial Dynamic Balancing

VibroTech Balancing approaches dynamic balancing as a controlled rotor-correction process focused on reducing residual unbalance and the resulting centrifugal forces generated during rotation. The engineering assessment considers rotor mass, geometry, operating speed, correction radius, correction-plane arrangement and the permissible residual unbalance required for the application. For rigid rotors, balancing tolerances and balance quality can be established with reference to ISO 21940-11, which provides procedures and tolerances for the balancing of rigid rotors. Where flexible-rotor behaviour is relevant, ISO 21940-12 provides guidance for balancing flexible rotors. The assessment of balancing errors and their influence on the final residual unbalance can also be considered with reference to ISO 21940-14. The applicable balance quality, permissible residual unbalance and acceptance criteria are determined according to the rotor characteristics, operating speed, balancing requirements and customer or equipment specifications.

Rotor Balancing

Balancing support is available for industrial motor rotors and a wide range of rotating components. The objective is to reduce residual unbalance and improve the running condition of the assembled rotating system.

  • Industrial motor rotor balancing
  • Rotating shaft and roller balancing
  • Fan and blower balancing
  • Pump impeller and rotating-component balancing
  • Turbine and alternator rotor balancing
  • Propeller & other marine component related support

Why Dynamic Balancing Matters

Rotor unbalance creates centrifugal forces that increase with speed. Correctly addressing unbalance can help reduce vibration and mechanical loading and can contribute to more reliable rotating-equipment operation.

VibroTech's Approach

Our approach combines balancing capability with practical engineering understanding of rotating machinery. The work is considered in relation to rotor design, operating conditions, machine application and the required balancing objective.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is dynamic balancing?

Dynamic balancing is the process of measuring and correcting uneven mass distribution in a rotating part while it spins, so that it runs smoothly. Correction is normally made in two or more planes, which removes both force and couple unbalance and reduces vibration and bearing loads.

What causes rotor unbalance?

Common causes include manufacturing tolerances, uneven material, wear, corrosion, deposit build-up, damaged or missing parts, and repairs such as rewinding or re-blading that change the mass distribution.

What is the difference between static and dynamic balancing?

Static balancing corrects unbalance in a single plane and does not need the rotor to spin. Dynamic balancing measures the rotor while it rotates and corrects in two or more planes, so it also corrects couple unbalance. Longer rotors usually need dynamic balancing.

Which standard defines balance quality?

ISO 21940-11 gives procedures and tolerances for balancing rigid rotors, including balance quality grades such as G6.3 and G2.5. ISO 21940-12 covers flexible rotors. The grade used depends on the rotor type, its operating speed and the equipment specification.

How do I know my rotor needs balancing?

Typical signs are high vibration at running speed, noise, premature bearing or seal wear, loosening fasteners and vibration that rises as speed increases. A vibration measurement helps confirm whether unbalance is the cause.

What is the largest rotor VibroTech Balancing can balance?

Our balancing facility handles jobs up to 20 ton in weight, up to 5 metres maximum outside diameter and up to 15 metres in length, with balancing capability up to 3000 RPM. Call +91 84549 87213 to confirm that your rotor fits.

How can I request a balancing quote?

Call +91 84549 87213 or email vibrotechbalancing@gmail.com with the rotor type, approximate weight, dimensions and operating speed, and we will respond with the next steps.
